ADELPHIE BEAUTIFUL NATURALLY™ ENHANCED SKIN CARE REGIMEN
Skin care can be as simple as the Adelphie Beautiful Naturally™ regime of cleansing and moisturizing with Glow! It’s a perfect no fuss but effective regime. One product = clean, moisturized glowing skin!
However, there are other beneficial products that can enhance your skin care regime and understanding the correct sequence of their use and importance of their function will help you make the right choices.
So, ideally, your skin care regime will consist of:
Cleanse, Exfoliate, Tone, Specialty Treatment (serums, antioxidants and masks) and Moisturize.
To help you understand the importance of each step, let’s talk about each specific function and best sequence of use. Please don’t be intimidated by the process that may seem to have a few more steps than you feel you have time for.
Once you get into the routine, it is quick, easy and enjoyable and you will soon start to see results.
There is a little secret technique in applying the products too that will ensure you get optimal results.
1. Cleanse
Starting and ending your day with clean skin is crucial to obtaining a clear healthy complexion.
A good cleanser will remove make up, pollutants our skin is exposed to during the day, oil and perspiration build up, and will not dry your skin.
Always start with clean hands and use upward circular motions to massage cleanser into skin.
Glow! Cleanser/Moisturizer. A good cleanser prepares the palette so to speak for further special treatment.
I am a huge fan of double cleansing at night, that is, cleanse once, rinse off, dry, and repeat. The first cleanse removes make-up etc., the second deeply cleans).
2. Exfoliation
(Not for sensitive or inflamed, visible acne lesions, or Rosacea).
Exfoliating assists with the removal of dead skin cells that cleansing won’t. I recommend exfoliating with Adelphie Natural Exfoliating Grains a few times a week using a very light touch.
Avoid eye contact and the delicate area around the nose where skin is thin and fine veins are close to the surface.
Don’t overdo exfoliation as it may cause irritation, and never exfoliate if you suffer from Rosacea.
Starting off at once a week to see how your skin reacts is a good idea. You can increase to twice a week for optimal results.
Adelphie Natural Exfoliating Grains contain a mixture of gorgeous dried botanicals and fruit enzymes, ground to a powdery grain with no sharp edges to scratch or damage your skin. It gently agitates dead skin cells and it won’t be long before you start to see your skin looking brighter and more vibrant. Exfoliate after cleaning and before toning.
3. Tone
Toning comes after cleansing (and exfoliation) before the next skin care steps, serum, oils, toner, moisturizer. Your cleanser will remove makeup and dirt, now a toner will remove anything you may not have rinsed/wiped off properly. It literally will remove any traces of cleanser on the skin, but importantly, it readjusts the skin’s natural pH level back to where it should be and refreshes skin in preparation for the next step.
Adelphie Toners are not drying or irritating and contain no alcohol. Adelphie Toners are made with simple natural ingredients like plant extracts, moisture retaining hyaluronic acid and aromatherapy hydrosols.
Our toners are:
Spray onto cotton swab and gently wipe face and neck to remove traces of cleanser. Then close your eyes and spritz toner over complete area of your face. Gently press your palms onto your cheeks several times as though coaxing the moisture into the pores of your skin. Use your finger pads to gently press under your eyes and on your forehead. Spritz a little more if it dries too quick and repeat the pressing. You are now ready for your serum. Don’t put your toner away as you will use it again. (Read on).
4. Serum
Adelphie Serums are intensive correctors containing highly concentrated active ingredients like antioxidants and anti-aging peptides that penetrate skin better than a moisturizer can on its own.
Typically, serums are light weight and water based and work to improve firmness, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and even out your skin tone.
Adelphie Serums consist of Vitamin C Antioxidant Serum, Peptide Age Defy Serum, Protect Antioxidant Oil Serum and Nigella Face Rescue Balm. Apply to your entire face and neck after toning, gently press into skin as you did with the toner and let sit on your face for a few minutes before next step.
5. Tone
Yes, apply again. Close your eyes and spritz two or three times over entire face.
Gently use the pressing technique again. Your face should feel moist and maybe a little tacky.
You are now ready for your oil based serum (Protect Antioxidant Oil Serum). This is a very important step in the effort to lock in and hold moisture (water) to the skin.
6. Protect Anti-Oxidant Oil Serum
Our skin is exposed to harsh conditions, such as sunlight, pollutants, cigarette smoke and chemicals all day long. This causes oxidative stress which breaks down collagen and interferes with the skin’s natural repair process.
The resulting damage takes the form of discolouring (caused by sun damage), fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, break outs, irritation and general lack lustre.
Antioxidants have anti-inflammatory and soothing properties that assist with skin cell renewal and repair helping skin get it’s glow back.
Adelphie Protect Antioxidant Oil Serum is made with organic oils carefully chosen to nourish and protect your skin. Apply after water based serum.
Add a few drops to the palm of your hand, rub hands together and press onto face, use finger pads to spread under eyes (not on eyelids), and on forehead. Give your face a gently massage using circular and upward movements.
7. Moisturize
A moisturizer is an important step in maintaining a healthy complexion. It improves the moisture content of the epidermis, makes skin look smoother, softer, plumper and assists in keeping those fine lines and wrinkles at bay.
A good moisturizer will have antioxidants and skin improving lipid components (plant fatty acids and oils) plus moisture attracting humectants that hold and attract water to the skin.
A good moisturizer can also be an organic oil that has sufficient fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties to promote healing and reduce inflammation.
Adelphie moisturizers consist of:
- Glow! Cleanser/Moisturizer
- Avocado Jasmine HA (with Hyaluronic Acid)
- Tahitian Age Defy with Matrixyl 3000 Peptides
Apply moisturizer over Serum of choice and gently massage into skin.
8. Mask
Mother Earth Clay Masks: Using natural clay in a mask form is one of the oldest beauty skin care practices. Natural clays contain numerous minerals and can be potent detoxifiers, meaning they help pull toxins, dirt and pollutant build up from the pores.
As well, a clay mask is a natural exfoliant to help loosen and remove dead skin cells that make skin look dull. Your skin will be glowing, healthy looking and your pores will appear to have shrunk.
I recommend using a clay mask at least once a week for optimum results. Always apply a mask onto clean skin. Never let it dry to cracking point, rather remove it when it is still wet-dry.
Adelphie Mother Earth Masks are a combination of natural clays, fruit and botanicals extracts that can be mixed with water, moisturizer, yogurt, or your favourite healthy fruit/vegetable juice. See Mother Earth Masks for further suggestions.
